"Samarkand" which is also known as "Cross Road Of Culture" is a city in Uzbekistan and has great importance in our history. It was one of the important city during "Silk Route" for the exchange of Art/ Culture/ Textile. During "Silk Route" India also exchanged various beautiful things and out of which one was " Suzani" from Uzbekistan.
"Suzani" is from the "Persian" "Suzan" which means "Needle". Suzanis" were traditionally made by the Brides as the part of their Dowry and were presented to the Groom on the wedding day. These Suzanis are infused with the Character from our everyday use. Most popular motifs are Sun, Moon, Flower, Leaves, Fruits, Vine and Bird.
There are various types of Suzanis and the story of each and every Suzani is rich in their color and intricate in their designs.
